Jobs are plentiful in Whistler. The biggest difficulty is finding accommodation, once you have that getting a job is simple. A good thing to do if you have a permit is work part time for the mountain that way you will get a free pass and the paycheque should be plenty for your living costs (as you have paid your rent in advance).

BUNAC sorts out the Canadian temporary work permits for the UK and also for many other countries. This last year BUNAC has changed it so that even non students can get a work permit. From Australia it is relatively very easy to get a work permit.
